7th Annual
YMOC Conference Call for Proposals
The Young Men of California Consortium (YMOC) invites practitioners, educators, researchers, students, and community partners to submit proposals for presentations at the 7th Annual YMOC Conference, taking place November 19–21, 2026, at California State University, San Bernardino. Join colleagues from across California to share innovative practices, research, and strategies that advance educational success and opportunity for men of color.
This year’s theme, Together We Build Brotherhood, Belonging, and Opportunity, reflects our collective commitment to creating educational environments where men of color experience connection, support, and opportunity. We welcome proposals that highlight innovative strategies, research, partnerships, and programs that strengthen networks of care, advance holistic wellness, foster belonging, and expand educational and career opportunities for men of color.

Proposal Review Criteria
Proposals will be evaluated based on:
- Relevance to the conference theme
- Practical value and applicability
- Innovation and creativity
- Evidence of effectiveness or research
- Audience engagement
- Clarity and organization

Presentation Types
- Professional Breakout Session
Sessions for faculty, staff, administrators, and practitioners highlighting effective programs, institutional practices, partnerships, and lessons learned.
- Student-Centered Breakout Session
Interactive sessions designed for undergraduate and graduate students that foster leadership, belonging, wellness, academic success, or career development.
- Research Poster Session
Poster presentations showcasing completed or ongoing research related to men of color in education.
- Practice Poster Session
Posters highlighting innovative campus programs, initiatives, interventions, or implementation efforts with practical implications.
